Case Study 1 This lady hated the gap between her two front teeth to the point that she covered her mouth and did not smile in public. Treatment included immediate replacement of her two front teeth with dental implant supported crowns and porcelain veneers on other upper and lower front teeth. Now she loves to smile. Case Study 2 Mr K referred himself to CDIC. He was so afraid of dentists that he had not seen a dentist for many years and consequently his teeth had deteriorated so much that they would all have to be extracted. Mr K also has a very bad gag reflex making it almost impossible for him to wear dentures and so he needed a solution by which he could have a new set of implant supported teeth fitted the same day as his own teeth were extracted. Initially his upper teeth and then his lower teeth were replaced by extracting them, placing four dental implants and temporary teeth all in the same day. Case Study 3 This lady disliked her instanding upper lateral incisor tooth that also had an abscess on it and therefore required extraction. Not wanting to wear a denture the tooth was extracted, an immediate dental implant placed with an immediate temporary tooth on it, taking the opportunity to put the tooth back into correct alignment. Once fully healed a permanent crown was fitted and now it is almost impossible to distinguish the implant supported crown from the adjacent natural teeth. Case Study 8 This patient was referred to Cleveland CDIC for dental implant treatment to replace his failing two upper front teeth. Further discussions with the patient about his smile made it clear that further improvements would be welcomed. Treatment was undertaken to extract the two teeth and place immediate dental implants with shortened temporary crowns. Once healing was complete permanent crowns were placed with porcelain veneers on the two adjacent teeth. The patient was delighted with the final result which provided him with a stunning new smile. Case Study 20 This patient had been told about five years previously whilst living in a different part of the country that her upper left front tooth was failing and she needed it extracting and a dental implant placing. She was too frightened to have any implant treatment carried out at that time. On moving to this area and hearing about Cleveland CDIC she attended for a consultation and decided to go ahead with treatment. Her upper left front tooth was extracted, a dental implant placed immediately along with a temporary crown. Once healing was complete a permanent crown was fitted. Case Study 24 This patient was referred to Cleveland CDIC due to his failing upper teeth all of which required extraction. The patient did not want to wear a denture and so it was decided to provide the patient with teeth in a day. Preparatory work allowed temporary teeth to be pre-made and fitted the same day as all the top teeth were extracted and the four dental implants placed.
