CASE 4 – Same Day multiple tooth replacement.

Mrs. N from Guisborough born 1954

Mrs N lost her upper left lateral incisor tooth when it fracture off at gum level. This tooth was replaced using a bridge which utilised her two upper central incisor teeth as abutments. This bridge was very delicate and Mrs N was unable to trust the bridge for eating on.

The original bridge in place showing poor gum margins and incorrect alignment

When the roots of these teeth began to deteriorate Mrs N was advised by her dentist that the best possible treatment option was to have these teeth replaced by dental implants.

By placing implants before the teeth actually failed meant that Mrs N did not have to wear a denture at any time. The failing teeth were removed, three dental implants placed and a temporary bridge all fitted at the same appointment.

The new temporary bridge in place

Once soft tissue healing round the implant supported temporary bridge was complete, this usually takes about three months, permanent crowns were constructed and fitted.

The permanent implant supported bridge in place. Note the correct alignment of the teeth

Mrs N now has teeth that she can eat on and a smile that is not lop sided.

The old and the new smile of a very happy patient.

If Mrs N had this treatment carried out today the cost would have been £6879.00
