CASE
8 – Full upper set of teeth
Mr K from Crook
born 1940
This
patient referred himself to CDIC following one of our patient information
evenings. He wore a full upper denture and had only seven teeth
remaining in his lower jaw. He requested a complete set of teeth
that replicated those he had had many years ago, he did not wish
to continue wearing his full upper denture. Ten implants were placed
in Mr K’s upper jaw and a twelve unite bridge was fitted onto
these. In his lower jaw three implants were placed either side and
these supported linked crowns. Research has now shown that it is
not always necessary to use so many implants and in many
cases CDIC now uses only six fixtures in the upper jaw
and only two fixtures either side in the lower jaw

The
all important new smile that cannot fall out. |
Mr
K wrote to CDIC telling us to tell people that dental implants
can bring a smile back into their life as it certainly had for
him.
The cost of
Mr K’s treatment if it had been carried out today would be
£13,500 to replace all the teeth in his upper jaw and £8500
to replace his six lower teeth.
