CASE 6 – Upper posterior crowns

Mr D from Middlesbrough born 1938

Mr D referred himself to CDIC wanting some teeth for his upper left hand side and also his very badly damaged crowns and bridge replacing. As in the case of all patients radiographs were taken of Mr D and it was found that due to the size of his maxillary sinus there was insufficient height of bone to place dental implants. Mr D underwent bone augmentation into the floor of his sinus to provide enough height of bone to allow the placement of three dental implants and subsequently three crowns, which were matched to the other crown and bridge work carried out.

Mr D’s missing teeth and worn out crown and bridge work.

The finished result allowed Mr D to chew properly again and also gave him a much more pleasant smile.

Mr D wrote to CDIC expressing how very happy he was with the work carried out and that he would urge other people to have the same treatment.

The cost of the sinus lift procedure and the implant portion of Mr D’s treatment if it had been carried out today would be £6,800.
