CASE
18 Full upper set of teeth on eight dental implants
Mrs
S from Hartlepool.
Mrs
S was referred to CDC as although she had worn a full upper denture
for many years she did not like it and wanted a permanently fixed
prosthesis. On talking to her own dentist she was told how CDIC
could help her realise her dream by using dental implants. Mrs S
was referred to CDIC for an opinion and was told that she was an
excellent candidate as although she had lost her teeth some years
ago she still had a lot of bone present. As implant treatment has
progressed over the years we now use fewer implants to replace a
full set of teeth usually using only six and often as few as four
dental implants. In the case of Mrs S though eight implants were
used as she wanted a very full smile with as many teeth as possible
replacing.

well formed ridge made treatment easier |
Note
how the implant supported teeth look as though they are
coming out of the gum like normal teeth and crowns. |
Mrs
S is delighted with her new teeth and commented that even people
who know she has dental implants cannot believe that they are so
natural looking. Mrs S now has no worries about smiling and showing
her teeth and knows that if she loses any of her lower teeth that
they can be replaced just as easily with dental implants.
The cost of Mrs S’s treatment if carried out today would be
£15,680.00
